Job summary

Cashfree Payments in Canada seeks a seasoned software engineer to design and deploy robust services in a large distributed environment. You will collaborate with frontend teams, optimize APIs, and champion testable, scalable solutions.

We expect strong CS fundamentals, 5+ years of experience, and expertise in Java or Golang, databases, and defensive coding. You will lead development initiatives and help advance CI/CD and AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with 5+ years of work experience.
• Strong CS fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, storage technologies, distributed computing, operating systems, etc.
• Experience designing and implementing scalable solutions in a large-scale distributed environment.
• Robust and defensive coding skills using Java/Golang or any other object-oriented programming language.
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (Cassandra, HBase, MongoDB, Dynamo, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust services in coordination with front-end developers, ensuring production and development of high-quality, well-tested code.
• Design, develop and test features alongside other technical departments.
• Lead the department in the design, development, deployment, and operation of services used by our users.
• Optimize APIs for applications while creating and maintaining unit tests for new code and defects.
• Product thinking: uncover the why, challenge assumptions and turn ambiguity into simple, high-impact solutions.
• Innovation: challenge the status quo, simplify complexity, embrace new technologies, and turn curiosity into elegant, reliable systems.
• AI Engineering: build practical expertise in AI, LLMs, agents, automation, and emerging technologies to transform engineering workflows.
• Participate in CI of automated builds and deployments, ensuring deliverables meet requirements and specifications.
• Take initiatives in developing and maintaining integrations of best practices within the backend department.
