Job summary

Germain Hotels in Ottawa is seeking a dedicated laundry attendant for an overnight schedule from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. You will handle bedding, operate laundry equipment, and maintain clean, organized linens to support guest comfort.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, physical fitness, and ability to work independently or with a team. Weekend/evening flexibility and unionized setting are noted.

Responsibilities

• Monitor inventory levels and report malfunctions; ensure storage and rotation of clean linen.

We're looking for a caring laundry attendant who loves immaculate whiteness. This member of our team ensures the comfort and well-being of our guests by maintaining their bedding. He/she respects safety and hygiene regulations and works with a positive attitude to maintain a pleasant, clean and safe working environment day after day.

This position follows an overnight schedule from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Receive, sort and inspect (stains, wear, damage) used bedding.


• Fill and activate washing machines and dryers according to established procedures.


• Fold, hang and stack clean linen items in an organized manner to facilitate retrieval and distribution.


• Iron items as necessary to maintain a neat appearance.


• Ensure the storage and rotation of clean linen and the organization of facilities by monitoring inventory levels and reporting any malfunctions.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• High school diploma or equivalent experience


• Experience in a similar position or in the hotel industry, an asset


• Good physical fitness: standing for long periods and ability to bend, lift and perform repetitive tasks


• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision and collaborating as part of a team


• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays, as required

Hiring hourly rate: $19.26

This position is unionized, and compensation is set as per the current collective agreement.
