Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a Laundry Aide to support both full-time and part-time shifts in Calgary. You will perform laundry services including washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens to clients, following approved procedures.

Ideal candidates have housekeeping or laundry experience, can follow written and verbal instructions, and operate laundry machines and equipment. You will work independently or in a team to maintain clean, orderly laundry areas.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping and/or laundry or equivalent combination of training and experience is an asset.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Able to operate laundry equipment such as washing machines, dryers, linen press, and clothing labeler.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team setting.
• Physically able to carry out duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Properly sort, wash and dry linens following the approved laundry procedures
• Fold, count, and stack linens following approved laundry procedures
• Collect soiled linens along with redistributing clean linens
• Transport supplies to include clean and soiled linen to the appropriate storage and collection areas
• Routinely inspect linens for wear and tear, identifying worn and torn linens and following Standard Operating Procedure for damaged linens
• Maintain the commercial and residential laundry rooms in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition
