Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Laundry Attendant in Barrie to perform laundry services including cleaning and distributing linens to clients. You will sort, wash, dry, fold, and transport linens, and maintain the laundry area.

The role requires the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, operate laundry equipment, and work independently or in a team. Prior housekeeping or laundry experience is an asset.

• Experience in housekeeping and/or laundry is an asset.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Sort, wash and dry linens following approved procedures.
• Fold, count, and stack linens.
• Collect soiled linens and redistribute clean linens.
• Transport clean and soiled linen to storage and collection areas.
• Inspect linens for wear and follow SOP for damaged linens.
• Maintain clean, orderly laundry areas.

Job description

You will be responsible for performing laundry services including cleaning and distributing linens to clients.

• Properly sort, wash and dry linens following the approved laundry procedures


• Fold, count, and stack linens following approved laundry procedures


• Collect soiled linens along with redistributing clean linens


• Transport supplies to include clean and soiled linen to the appropriate storage and collection areas


• Routinely inspect linens for wear and tear, identifying worn and torn linens and following Standard Operating Procedure for damaged linens


• Maintain the commercial and residential laundry rooms in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition


• Experience in housekeeping and/or laundry or equivalent combination of training and experience is an asset


• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing


• Able to operate laundry equipment such as washing machines, dryers, linen press, and clothing labeler


• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team setting


• Physically able to carry out duties of the position
