Job summary

Actionmarguerite is seeking a Laundry Aide in Winnipeg, MB. The role involves sorting, laundering and distributing residents' clothing and linen, and supporting housekeeping and environmental tasks to ensure a clean, safe environment. The position is 0.5 FTE part-time with shifts from 08:00-14:45 or 08:00-15:00, and a closing date of Oct 6, 2026.

Experience in long-term care is an asset. Bilingual French/English communication is required, and safety footwear is expected.

Job description

The Laundry Aide is responsible for the sorting, laundering and distribution of residents’ personal clothes and linen. Is also responsible for carrying out the work procedures according to the Laundry standards and applicable work routine, the delivery of Housekeeping Services where applicable, by performing a variety of environmental activities, according to standards, to ensure a clean and safe environment and supports resident focused care and other related functions. The Laundry Aide demonstrates a commitment to the vision, mission and values of Actionmarguerite.

Specifications: Assignment and hours of work are subject to change at any time as per operational requirements.

• Ability to communicate in both official languages (French and English) is required;
• Demonstrated interpersonal relationship and communication skills with residents’ families, and co-workers;

• Flexible and capable of adapting to change;
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a courteous manner;
• Mental and physical health to meet the demands of the job;
• Safety footwear is required;
• Ability to demonstrate a satisfactory employment record, including attendance; and
• Current Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable sector and Adult Abuse Registry Check deemed satisfactory by the Employer.

Knowledge:

• Workplace Health and Safety and safe work practices; and
• W.H.M.I.S. program.

This position is designated bilingual (French/English). All staff are hired for the facility. Employees may hold more than one position in different Actionmarguerite facilities, where the sum total of hours does not exceed 1.0 full-time equivalence.
