Job summary

Actionmarguerite is seeking a Dietetic Aide to support food service operations in a healthcare setting. The role covers food preparation, distribution, storage, cleaning and sanitizing across Food Services, with emphasis on safety and resident well-being.

Qualifications include an Dietetic Aide Certificate or willingness to study, plus experience in health care food service and with cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Responsibilities

• The Dietetic Aide is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the food preparation, distribution, storage, cleaning and sanitizing, and maintenance of all areas pertaining to Food Services.
• Maintains sanitation and safety according to facility policies and CUPE standards.
• Supports residents and staff through collaborative, interdisciplinary teamwork.

Job description

The Dietetic Aide is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the food preparation, distribution, storage, cleaning and sanitizing, and maintenance of all areas pertaining to Food Services, and performs other related functions. The Dietetic Aide demonstrates a commitment to the vision, mission and values of Actionmarguerite.

Service: Food Services 185 DA DAY CL/DR 7 2A
Starting Date: November 1, 2026
Shift and Hours of Work: 0.71 FTE – part-time – hours of work currently 07:30-13:30
Pay Scale: As per CUPE Collective Agreement
Specifications: Assignment and hours of work are subject to change at any time as per operational requirements.
Closing Date: October 6, 2026

• Dietetic Aide Certificate or willing to take the course;
• Experience in food service, preferably in a health care setting;
• Experience with cleaning chemicals an asset;
• Experience with the operation and cleaning of food preparation equipment and scales; and

Knowledge:

• Food sanitation and safety;
• Quantity food preparation;
• Mathematics and metric system for recipe calculations and portioning;
• Workplace Health and Safety and safe work practices; and
• W.H.M.I.S. program.

All staff are hired for the facility.Employees may hold more than one position in different Actionmarguerite facilities, where the sum total of hours does not exceed 1.0 full-time equivalence.
