Job summary

Actionmarguerite is seeking a Groundskeeper and Maintenance Helper to maintain the building, equipment and grounds across sites. You will perform preventative maintenance and handle work requisitions, contributing to attractive, safe outdoor spaces.

This full-time 1.0 FTE position runs days, starting November 29, 2026 (or sooner), with shifts 07:30–15:45. The role requires bilingual communication and a valid driver’s licence, plus experience in related trades and with tractors.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s licence is required.
• Certification and experience in related trades a definite asset (electrical, plumbing, painting, refrigeration, carpentry, HVAC, grounds keeping and landscaping).
• Three years of experience, preferably in a related setting (health care, long term care).
• Previous experience using a tractor;
• Experience and/or education in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word.

Responsibilities

• Perform required maintenance of the building, equipment and grounds.
• Complete on-going work requisitions and other related functions.
• Provide service to all Actionmarguerite sites and applicable service contracts.
• Assist with preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.

Job description

The Groundskeeper and Maintenance Helper is responsible for performing required maintenance of the building, equipment and grounds, including assigned preventative maintenance duties on equipment, completing on going work requisitions and other related functions. This person has a keen eye for outdoor spaces and plays an important role in creating and maintaining outdoor spaces that are appealing, beautiful and safe. The incumbent provides service to all Actionmarguerite sites and applicable service contracts.

Pay Scale: As per CUPE Collective Agreement
Specifications: Indefinite term ending with 1 weeks’ notice. Assignment and hours of work are subject to change at any time as per operational requirements.

• Must be in good mental and physical health to meet the requirements of the job;

• Must be able to perform any other related duties;
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a satisfactory employment record, including attendance; and
