Job summary

Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a Laundry Aide at Altona Community Memorial Health Centre. The role involves processing and transporting soiled and clean linen, maintaining inventory and records, and ensuring laundry areas and equipment are clean and functional.

The position is in person, casual/temporary, with anticipated start mid‑September 2026 and potential travel to regional facilities as needed. Strong reliability and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated verbal comprehension and written command of the English language.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Manager - Environmental Services, the Laundry Aide processes and transports soiled and clean linen to the appropriate areas of the facility.
• Maintains linen inventory, washing records and delivery records and keeps laundry production/storage areas clean and in good condition.
• Exercises initiative to determine work priorities and methods, aligning with organizational policies.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Manager - Environmental Services, the Laundry Aide is responsible for the processing and transporting soiled and clean linen to the appropriate areas of the facility. The incumbent is also responsible for keeping and maintaining records for linen inventory, washing records, delivery records and maintaining the laundry production/storage areas, ensuring equipment is clean and in good working condition.

The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

Experience

• Previous working experience in industrial or commercial laundry.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Completed Grade 10 education (Manitoba Standard).
• Other combination of education and experience may be considered.
