Elias Custom Metal Fabrication Ltd. is an industry leader in metal fabrication, producing fully assembled high-end retail fixtures, electrical enclosures, and custom structural projects. We seek an experienced Laser Machine Operator for full-time, permanent work, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5:30pm.

Responsibilities include operating flatbed and tube laser machines, setup and nesting from shop drawings, reading blueprints, and ensuring quality and safety standards. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating laser machines.
• Experience with Trumpf laser models preferred.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication and metal tubes/channels is a plus.
• Able to perform parts nesting and load/setup programs from shop drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.

We are seeking an experienced Laser Machine Operator available to work Full-Time, Permanent, Monday to Friday 8am to 5:30pm.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate flatbed laser machines and monitor displays and progress
• Operate tube laser machine and monitor displays and progress
• Operate punch and laser combination machine and monitor displays and progress
• Follow standard procedure work instructions
• Complete all aspects of set up and set up maintenance on the equipment being operated including loading, installation and alignment of materials
• Perform parts nesting, load and set up programs from shop drawings with minimal supervision
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings and create forming sequence
• Follow written instructions, sketches, schedules, drawings and documents
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures
• Inspect own work and use inspection tools
• Operate forklift to load, unload and handle materials required
• Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications:

• Must have at least 3 years’ experience with laser machine operation
• Experience working with punch machine considered an asset
• Experience working with different Trumpf machine models an asset
• Must have experience and knowledge working with sheet metal. Experience working with metal tubes and channels considered an asset
• Must have knowledge of metal fabrication and experience with different types of metals (stainless, mild-steel, aluminum, etc.)
• Must be able to perform parts nesting functions, load and set up program
• Must be able to work independently or as part of a team
• Ability and willingness to learn and be trained to learn new skills
• Manual dexterity required

• Fast-paced environment
• Noisy and dusty work plant/shop environment
• Physically demanding – handling weights, standing, walking, reaching for extended periods
• May work overtime, as required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
