J.D. Barnes Limited, a leading geomatics firm, seeks a Survey Assistant to support the Party Chief in field work at a Toronto site. You will operate survey equipment, assist with data prep and calculations, and ensure safety and equipment maintenance on a 40-hour on-site schedule.

Qualifications

• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good mathematical abilities.
• Experience with land surveying and survey equipment is an asset.
• Familiarity working in Windows-based applications is an asset.
• Post secondary education in related field (surveying or engineering technology) is an asset, but not required.

• Adhere to all Health and Safety Policies and Regulations
• Other duties as assigned

As a Survey Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the Party Chief in successfully completing the field work on assigned jobs in accordance with the industry regulations and J.D. Barnes Limited's procedures and technical standards. This is a full-time, on-site position, located in Toronto. This job posting is for a vacant position.

Key Job Details

• Expected Compensation Range: $41,600- $57,200, commensurate with skills, education, and experience
• Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

This job takes place outdoors in varying weather conditions and environments and demands a certain degree of physical strength as you will be carrying equipment (Total Station, Level, Bars and Stakes) from site to site.
