Job summary

J.D. Barnes Limited, a leading geomatics firm, seeks a Survey Assistant to support the Party Chief in field work at a Toronto site. You will operate survey equipment, assist with data prep and calculations, and ensure safety and equipment maintenance on a 40-hour on-site schedule.

The role is entry-level with training provided, offering growth opportunities, health and dental insurance, and RRSP benefits.

Qualifications

Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Excellent communication skills.
Good mathematical abilities.
Experience with land surveying and survey equipment is an asset.
Familiarity working in Windows-based applications is an asset.
Post secondary education in related field (surveying or engineering technology) is an asset, but not required.

Responsibilities

Operate survey equipment including levels, Total Stations, Data collectors, GPS etc.
Assist the Land Survey Party Chief with data preparation, measurements and calculations
Communicate problems, errors, questions and concerns to the Land Survey Party Chief
Inspect and maintain field equipment
Ensure a clean and orderly work environment
Adhere to all Health and Safety Policies and Regulations
Other duties as assigned
