Job summary

J.D. Barnes Limited, a leading geomatics firm in Ontario, is seeking a CAD Technologist to join our Windsor team. You will prepare CAD files, interpret survey data, and handle reference data for a range of projects.

This full-time, on-site role offers a stable schedule, opportunities for growth, and benefits including health and dental insurance and RRSP. Strong attention to detail and knowledge of Microstation are preferred.

Qualifications

• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Education in Survey, Civil or CAD program, or 2+ years of Land Surveying or CAD experience preferred.
• Experience drafting condominium plans is an asset.
• Detail oriented, with the ability to read and understand Architectural and Structural design drawings.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to learn new field and office surveying techniques.
• Experience with Microstation is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Import and process field data.
• Prepare Legal and Topographic Surveys.
• Provide calculations to field staff.
• Interact with field staff to ensure proper configuration of data/sketches and conformity with local By-Laws, Registry Office information and client specifications.
• Liaise with project supervisors regarding plan details.
• Maintain accurate records, timesheets and other files pertaining to the job.

J.D. Barnes Limited is searching for a CAD Technologist to join our team! As a CAD Technologist you will be responsible for preparation of CAD work involving detailed files, survey interpretation, and a variety of reference data. This is a full-time, on-site position, located in Windsor, ON. This job posting is for a vacant position.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Import and process field data
• Prepare Legal and Topographic Surveys
• Provide calculations to field staff

Key Job Details

• Expected Compensation Range: $43,500 - $56,000 commensurate with skills, education, and experience
• Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
