Job summary

J.D. Barnes Limited, the leading Canadian land surveying firm, is seeking a CAD Technologist for our Tillsonburg location.

The role involves preparing CAD work from field data, interpreting survey information, and managing reference data. You will collaborate with field crews and project staff to ensure plans meet By-Laws and client specs, while maintaining accurate records and supporting topographic and legal survey deliverables.

Qualifications

• Education in Survey, Civil or CAD program, or 2+ years of Land Surveying or CAD experience is preferred.
• Detail oriented, with the ability to read and understand Architectural and Structural design drawings
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to learn new field and office surveying techniques
• Experience with Microstation is an asset

Responsibilities

• Import and process field data
• Prepare Legal and Topographic Surveys
• Provide calculations to field staff
• Interact with field staff to ensure proper configuration of data/sketches and conformity with local By-Laws, Registry Office information and client specifications
• Liaise with project supervisors regarding plan details
• Maintain accurate records, timesheets and other files pertaining to the job
