Job summary

EXP is seeking a Land Development Project Engineer/Designer in Calgary to join a diverse engineering team. This full-time role focuses on road and utility design for complex projects, with regulatory coordination and client liaison supported by the manager, Land Development Operations.

You will mentor staff, ensure QC on designs and drawings, and help drive business development while managing schedules, budgets and safety adherence across sites in Western Canada.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of land development experience.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Technologist, or eligible for registration.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and vehicle required.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide road and utility design solutions for complex projects and support project managers.
• Write, sign and possibly seal reports and drawings as required.
• Supervise/mentor staff and provide QC for designs and documents.
• Monitor project schedules and budgets and report status to the project manager.
• Coordinate with clients, municipal authorities and contractors.
• Participate in business development and proposal efforts.
• Coordinate design and field staff for internal project teams; ensure safety compliance.
