The City of Fort Saskatchewan is seeking a Labourer II to support Parks Services during the winter season. Reporting to the Foreman, you will operate shovels, light equipment, perform inspections and assist with cemetery-related tasks while providing excellent public service.
This physically demanding role requires a valid Alberta Class 5 license, a high school diploma, and strong communication skills. Seasonal shifts run up to 40 hours per week with the City offering training and facility
Reporting to the Foreman, Parks Services, the Labourer II position performs a wide variety of work functions within the Public Works Department in the winter months. This position uses safe work practices and procedures to carry out assigned tasks and contributes to the overall effectiveness of the work team.
The successful candidate must have an Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License and a High School Diploma. Experience in the operation and servicing of parks maintenance and snow removal equipment is required. Good organizational and excellent customer service skills, with the ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing are essential. This is a physically demanding position; incumbents will be required to work in a variety of adverse weather conditions.
This position is within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 30, and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement. The successful candidate will be required to provide a current Driver’s Abstract at time of interview.
