Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a Labourer in Fort McKay, AB to support the field service team. You will perform low-complexity tasks that promote workplace organization, safety, and smooth process flow in line with Finning Opx standards.

If you are mechanically inclined, this permanent position offers a starting wage of CAD 33.22–37.12 per hour, plus industry-leading benefits, RRSP options, and training opportunities including CAT certifications.

Qualifications

• Completion of grade 12 and mechanically inclined.
• Valid driver’s license with clean abstract; min 21 years old.
• Able to lift/move up to 40 lbs.
• Self-starter who can follow directions with limited supervision.
• Experience in heavy equipment maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Move equipment in and out of the shop.
• Assist mechanics with guards removal and installation.
• Oil sampling, lubrication and oil changes.
• Wash and detail equipment.
• Assist field and shop mechanics as required.
• General shop/yard/field site cleanup.
• Other general duties as required.

Job Description

• Moving equipment in and out of the shop
• Aid mechanics with the removal and installation of guards
• Oil sampling, lube and oil changes
• Washing and detailing of equipment
• Assisting field and shop mechanics as required
• General clean up of shop, yard, field sites, parts and machines
• Other General Duties as required

Qualifications

• Completion of grade 12 and mechanically inclined
• Valid Driver's License with successful recent driver abstract, due to safety requirements must be minimum 21 years of age
• Physical requirement ability to lift/move up to 40 lbs.
• Self-starter able to follow directions, assist and work under the direction of a Field Heavy Duty Mechanic and possess the motivation necessary to contribute positively to a safe team environment
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work under minimal supervision
• Experience working within a heavy equipment maintenance environment, basic equipment knowledge, along with preventative maintenance experience would be considered assets

Important Information

• This position is based in Fort Mckay, AB on a 14x14 Shift. (Days and Nights Required)
• Hours and shift schedule may be subject to change to meet customer and/or Finning (Canada) requirements. Please note that any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the Terms & Conditions of the current Collective Agreement
