Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
  • Strong commitment to safety and reliability.
  • Previous labour or driving experience in the North is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, handle, and prepare waste in compliance with TDG regulations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service at KBL and externally.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and perform daily maintenance.
  • Supply the Supervisor with information for documentation.
  • Complete load sheets and inventory reports accurately.
  • Load and unload trailers and manage customer drop-offs.
  • Adhere to SWPs and SOPs, report near misses/incidents promptly.
  • Work independently in remote locations as needed.
  • Operate small to large equipment safely and confidently.
  • Be willing to travel as necessary for project tasks.

Under the supervision of the Lead Hand & Facility Manager, the Labourer/Driver must demonstrate strong listening skills, adhere to safety protocols when working with hazardous materials, and operate equipment ranging from small to large sizes. Candidates should possess physical fitness and a willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Labourers are responsible for managing waste safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner. Their duties include, but are not limited to, identifying and repackaging waste for transport in compliance with Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations, consolidating waste as needed, loading and unloading trucks, pick ups and drop offs, and engaging in physically demanding tasks.

What You'll Do

  • Provide exceptional customer service both at KBL and while representing the company in external interactions.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and perform daily maintenance to ensure safe operational standards.
  • Supply the Supervisor with necessary information to complete required documentation.
  • Complete load sheets and inventory reports accurately.
  • Load and unload trailers and manage customer drop-offs effectively.
  • Adhere to Safe Work Practices (SWPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and report near misses and incidents to the Supervisor promptly.
  • Work independently in remote locations as needed.
  • Operate small to large equipment safely and confidently.
  • Be willing to travel as necessary to fulfill project-related tasks.
