Job summary

KBL Environmental is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to support earthworks, mining and environmental remediation projects across the Northwest Territories. You will operate excavators and dozers, perform inspections, and help deliver safe, efficient project outcomes at multiple project sites.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience with excavators and dozers, a Class 3 license (Air Brake asset preferred), and a proven ability to work safely in challenging conditions and long shifts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience operating Excavators and Dozers.
• Class 3 License with Air Brake certification will be considered an asset.
• Strong work ethic and ability to persevere through difficult weather and long days.

• Safely and effectively operate heavy equipment ( Excavators and Dozers ).
• Perform pre-operational checks and top up slip tanks as needed.
• Load and move earth, rock, and debris with care and precision.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and keep work areas clean and organized.

We're looking for Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team, supporting earthworks, mining, and environmental remediation projects across the NWT. If you're an experienced operator who takes pride in safe, high-quality work and thrives in challenging environments, we'd love to hear from you.

In this role, you'll safely operate heavy equipment for excavation, grading, earthmoving, and site preparation, complete daily equipment inspections, and help deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

What You'll Do

• Safely and effectively operate a variety of heavy equipment, with focus on Excavators and Dozers
• Perform thorough pre-operational checks and keep slip tanks topped off to ensure reliable equipment performance.
• Load and move a diverse range of materials such as earth, rock, and demolition debris with accuracy and care.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and daily equipment checks, while keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Support a team-oriented work environment by assisting with general site housekeeping, fueling, and equipment care.
• Safely transport materials from excavation sites to stockpiles, focusing on efficiency and precision.
• Take part in general labour and team support tasks such as digging, sweeping, monitoring, sampling, and spotting for trucks.

Who You Are

• 5+ years’ experience operating Excavators and Dozers.
• Class 3 License with Air Brake certification will be considered an asset.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to persevere through difficult weather conditions, challenging work site environments, and long demanding work days.
