Job summary

CGI Constructors in Winnipeg is seeking a Labourer to support general construction tasks and assist skilled trades on active sites. This role involves lifting, carrying, climbing ladders, and moving materials while adhering to safety standards.

You will help with site setup, material handling, and documentation, contributing to a productive work environment. The position emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to follow directions and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of general construction tasks; physical exertion includes lifting, carrying, climbing ladders, and moving materials.
• Assist equipment operators, carpenters, subtrades, and other skilled labour as needed.
• Prepare construction sites by clearing obstacles, hazards, and debris.
• Load and unload construction materials to work areas.
• Support material deliveries and ensure materials are stored securely.
• Complete project documentation, timecards, and photography in the document control system.
• Follow site logistics plans, safety procedures, and supervisor instructions.
• Participate in toolbox talks and required trainings; assist with site facilities setup.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform a range of general construction related tasks as assigned; this will involve physical exertion, that includes lifting, carrying, climbing ladders and moving materials.
• Help equipment operators, carpenters, subtrades, and other skilled labour as needed.
• Prepare construction sites by cleaning obstacles, hazards, and debris.
• Loading and unloading construction materials to work areas.
• Support material deliveries and confirm materials are stored securely and protected from damage.
• Responsible for completing and completing required project documentation, timecards, and photography in document control system.
• Follow site logistics plans, safety procedures, and supervisor instructions.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, orientations, and required training.
• Erect and dismantle temporary structures, fencing, signage and site facilities.
• Promoting and demonstrating a strong culture of health and safety.

Qualifications

• Completion of High School Diploma
• Be open and willing to take direction.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
• Adaptable and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, within tight deadlines while maintaining safety and high-quality standards
