Job summary

AGAT Laboratories is seeking a Laboratory Technician B to join the Inorganics/Environmental lab at our Edmonton, Alberta facility. The position reports to the Laboratory Supervisor and supports administrative and basic laboratory services.

Weekend availability is required. You will perform sample preparation, calibration, data recording, and ensure quality control while following SOPs. A Technical Diploma or Science Degree is expected.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education with a Technical Diploma or Science Degree.
  • 0-2 years previous laboratory work experience.
  • Intermediate computer skills with experience with MS Office and LIMS.
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions.
  • Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal.
  • Calibrate, operate, maintain and troubleshoot intermediate instruments.
  • Compile, verify and validate accurate data records.
  • Meet quality assurance and turn around specifications.
  • Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Report results.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary

AGAT Laboratories is currently looking for a Laboratory Technician B to join our Inorganics/Environmental lab working out of our Edmonton, Alberta facility. This position is given direction from the Laboratory Supervisor and assists with administrative and basic laboratory services. For this position, weekend availability is required.

What you will be doing:
  • Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions.
  • Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal.

What you bring to the table:

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks within a fast-paced work environment.
  • Hand-Eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Mature work ethic, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift 25+ pounds as required.
  • Comfort in working in a debris-prone environmentwithsoils and sediment.
Work Environment:

This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. PPE is required where applicable.
