Veolia North America, LLC is seeking a Laboratory Co-op to support daily operations of the analytical laboratory. The role focuses on safe testing workflows and adherence to SOPs, with a strong emphasis on quality control and safety.

You will work in a collaborative team to maintain equipment, manage samples, and ensure timely completion of tasks. Qualified candidates are rising juniors or seniors pursuing Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, with hands-on and detail-oriented skills, and

Competenze

  • Rising Junior or Senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a hands-on approach.
  • Ability to read and interpret instruction and safety manuals.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite Applications.
  • Full-time availability for 8-12 months starting May/June 2027.

Mansioni

  • Perform laboratory testing of water and hydrocarbon fluids per SOPs.
  • Adhere to analytical and quality control protocols accurately, timely, and safely.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and clean laboratory equipment and apparatus.
  • Manage inventory of laboratory supplies, sample containers and consumables.
  • Receive and handle samples delivered to the facility during normal business hours.
  • Dispose waste materials in compliance with health, safety and environmental policies and requirements.
  • Support safety and quality initiatives and activities.
  • Effectively manage all assigned tasks to ensure completion by established timelines.
  • Report malfunctions to the laboratory manager.

Job Description
What your day might look like:
  • The Laboratory Co-op will support the daily operations of the analytical laboratory, maintaining smooth testing workflows and ensuring a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory testing of water and hydrocarbon fluids as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Adhere to the analytical and quality control protocols accurately, timely, and safely.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and clean laboratory equipment and apparatus.
  • Manage inventory of laboratory supplies, sample containers and consumables.
  • Receive and handle samples delivered to the facility during normal business hours.
  • Dispose waste materials in compliance with health, safety and environmental policies and requirements.
  • Support safety and quality initiatives and activities.
  • Effectively manage all assigned tasks to ensure completion by established timelines.
  • Report malfunctions (threshold exceeded, non-compliant samples, quality alert procedure) to the laboratory manager.

Compensation
  • The compensation range is tied to the market for similarly bench-marked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $24.72-27.30 CAD
