Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing of water and hydrocarbon fluids per SOPs.
  • Adhere to analytical and quality-control protocols accurately, timely and safely.
  • Maintain, calibrate and clean laboratory equipment.
  • Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and consumables.
  • Receive and handle samples delivered to the facility during business hours.
  • Dispose waste materials in line with safety and environmental policies.
  • Support safety and quality initiatives and activities.
  • Complete tasks within established timelines.
  • Report malfunctions to the laboratory manager when thresholds are exceeded or samples are non-compliant.

Job Description

What your day might look like:

  • The Laboratory Co-op will support the daily operations of the analytical laboratory, maintaining smooth testing workflows and ensuring a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to)

  • Perform laboratory testing of water and hydrocarbon fluids as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Adhere to the analytical and quality control protocols accurately, timely, and safely.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and clean laboratory equipment and apparatus.
  • Manage inventory of laboratory supplies, sample containers and consumables.
  • Receive and handle samples delivered to the facility during normal business hours.
  • Dispose waste materials in compliance with health, safety and environmental policies and requirements.
  • Support safety and quality initiatives and activities.
  • Effectively manage all assigned tasks to ensure completion by established timelines.
  • Report malfunctions (threshold exceeded, non-compliant samples, quality alert procedure) to the laboratory manager.

Compensation:

  • The compensation range is tied to the market for similarly bench-marked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $24.72-27.30CAD
