Alberta Precision Labs in Edmonton Base Lab is seeking a Laboratory Assistant I to support Anatomic Pathology. You will handle specimen receipt, preparation and handling for testing, and ensure safe transport, storage and disposal of materials.
Responsibilities include routine slide staining, filing, and send-out tasks, plus basic computer and clerical duties. Prior lab experience and Beaker requisition familiarity are valued.

A focus on quality assurance, critical thinking, and problem-solving is essential. We are seeking a reliable and efficient candidate with strong interpersonal skills.Additional Duties include: routine slide staining, slide sorting, block melting, slide/block filing, and send out, as well as computer and clerical duties. Quality control and operating instruments and performing routine maintenance.
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:As Required.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent experience in Anatomic Pathology within the past 6 months as Medical Laboratory Assistant I.Beaker Requisition entry experience is an asset.
