Job summary

ALS Environmental in Calgary is seeking a Layout Clerk to manage the timely processing and organization of incoming samples for analysis. You will verify client information, enter data into lab systems, and support both independent and team work environments to deliver quality service.

The role requires accurate data entry, strong organization, and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Prior lab or production exposure is a plus, with a friendly, client-focused approach emphasized.

Qualifications

• Good English communication skills required (auditory, verbal, written, reading).
• Accurate and efficient data entry skills.
• Well organized with ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Process oriented with ability to think critically in ambiguous situations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates day-to-day activities of sample reception/layout clerks.
• Primary contact for sample reception questions from lab staff and Account Managers.
• Directs incoming work and prioritizes based on holding times and rush TAT.
• Handles subcontract samples and communicates with couriers.
• Notifies Client Service of non-conformances or rush work.
