Job summary

SGS Mississauga is seeking a detail-oriented Lab Sample Receiver to manage receipt of laboratory supplies and samples, ensure delivery correctness, and enter information into LIMS according to SGS procedures.

You will maintain documentation, prepare lab sheets and labels, unpack and store samples, and coordinate with departments to resolve discrepancies, while upholding safety and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a community college diploma.
• Over one year of experience in administrative or technical roles.
• Prior chemistry-related technical experience preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced professional environment.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and SOPs safely and accurately.
• Strong organizational skills and independence as well as collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Receive laboratory supplies and samples and verify delivery accuracy.
• Maintain compliance with SGS SOPs and complete required forms.
• Record keeping for shipping temperature devices on receipt.
• Enter sample information into LIMS as per SGS procedures and identify testing needs.
• Generate lab sheets and sample labels.
• Deliver lab sheets to the appropriate departments.
• Maintain the receiving area organized and free of clutter.
• Assist with archiving and proper disposal of samples.
