Fort McMurray Catholic Schools in Fort McMurray, Alberta invites applications for a 1.0 FTE Full-Time Grade 8 & 9 Knowledge & Employability (K&E) Teacher at Father Mercredi Catholic High School, starting as soon as possible for the 2026-2027 school year.

This position includes delivering Alberta Education curriculum with a faith-based framework, collaborating with colleagues, and supporting student growth in a vibrant Catholic learning community.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help.

• Integrate faith-based teachings and values into daily lessons and classroom activities.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons aligned with Alberta Education curriculum.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes active learning, social-emotional development, and spiritual growth.
• Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student development.
• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to ensure student success and a cohesive school environment.
• Maintain accurate student records and adhere to all school and division policies and procedures.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives.

The Fort McMurray Roman Catholic Separate School Division is seeking a passionate and dedicated 1.0 FTE Full-Time Grade 8 & 9 Knowledge & Employability (K&E) Teacher to join our vibrant education community starting as soon as possible for the remainder of the 2026-2027 school year at Father Mercredi Catholic High School.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education degree; a specialization or focus in inclusive education is considered an asset
• Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate or eligibility for one.
