Job summary

STONG’S MARKETS LIMITED is hiring a Kitchen Team Member for our Prepared Foods Department in BC. You will work hands-on with fresh sandwiches, rotisserie items, salads, and hot meals, ensuring quality, presentation, and excellent customer service at the counter.

You’ll slice meats, prepare grab-and-go meals, interact with customers, and help maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen. Join a team focused on freshness, community, and a positive in-store experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or deli work is preferred

We’re seeking a friendly, food-loving Kitchen Team Member to join our Prepared Foods Department. In this hands-on role, you’ll work with a variety of house-prepared items, from fresh sandwiches and rotisserie chickens to specialty salads and hot meals. You’ll help ensure our offerings are fresh, well-presented, and made with care, while delivering outstanding customer service at the counter.

Whether you’re slicing meats to order, serving up salads,answering customer questions, preparing grab-and-go meals, or offering a tasteof our latest creations, you’ll play a key part in facilitating an exceptionalin-store experience that keeps guests coming back.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Engage warmly with customers, answeringquestions and guiding them through our deli, bakery, and kitchen offerings
• Slice, portion, weigh, price, and package delimeats, cheeses, and house-made items according to customer requests and store standards
• Prepare fresh grab-and-go meals, includingwraps, sandwiches, salads, and specialty trays
• Prepare hot HMR offerings, including rotisseriechickens, breakfast, lunch, and dinner items
• Offer samples and confidently recommendsignature products and seasonal features to boost sales and customersatisfaction
• Ensure freshness and proper rotation of allperishable items; assist with stocking and merchandising
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organizedkitchen and service area at all times
• Follow food safety and hygiene protocols forprepping, storing, and serving food
• Assist with receiving deliveries, storingingredients, and backroom inventory tasks
• Contribute to a positive, team-focusedenvironment and be ready to jump in wherever needed

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Prior experience in customer service,restaurant, food service, grocery retail, or deli work is a strong asset
• A passion for fresh food and an interest inculinary quality
• Strong communication skills and the ability toengage with a diverse customer base
• Attention to detail in food presentation,cleanliness, and safety
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced,team-oriented environment
• Able to take initiative, prioritize tasks, andstay organized during busy periods
• Must be available for a variety of shifts,including early mornings, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Able to stand for extended periods and performrepetitive motions such as reaching, lifting, and bending
• Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs regularly
• Comfortable working with knives, slicers, ovens,and hot food equipment (training provided)
