Job summary

The Prince George Hotel in Halifax seeks a Kitchen Steward to help keep the kitchen clean, safe and efficient. You will play a key role in maintaining a sanitary environment and supporting the kitchen and F&B teams.

Ideal candidates bring kitchen or stewarding experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to cleanliness. Flexible shifts, including nights and weekends, are required.

Qualifications

• Previous stewarding or kitchen experience is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work closing shifts.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all dishware, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
• Follow proper procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment (WHMIS)
• Support receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies
• Operate dishwashing and cleaning equipment safely and efficiently
• Complete daily cleaning tasks as assigned
• Report safety hazards, incidents, and maintenance concerns
• Work closely with kitchen and Food & Beverage teams
• Take initiative to ensure the kitchen remains in top condition at all times
