Job summary

The Salvation Army International is hiring a Kitchen Helper to support the Food Services team. Under the guidance of the Food Services Manager, you will assist the cook with food preparation and serving, wash dishes, buss tables, and maintain a clean dining area.

This role requires at least one year of kitchen/restaurant experience, a valid Food Safe 1 certificate, safety boots, and the ability to pass a TB skin test and Criminal Record Check. First Aid training may be required after hire.

• No specific academic education is required.
• One-year minimum kitchen/restaurant helper experience is required.
• Food Safe 1 basic is a requirement of employment.
• Occupational First Aid may be required after hire.
• Must provide safety boots and verification of TB skin test.
• Criminal Record Check is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the cook in preparing specific food items and serving food.
• Wash crockery, cutlery, dishes, saucepans and pots as part of kitchen operations.
• Buss and clear dining room tables, keep dining room clean and orderly.
• Maintain clean and tidy dining and kitchen areas.
• Assist Front Desk staff in Fire Emergencies.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Assists the cook in the preparation of specific food items, and with the serving of food.* Washes all crockery, cutlery, dishes, saucepans and pots used in the operation of the kitchen and dining room.* Attends to bussing dishes from the dining room.* Always maintains dining room tables and chairs in a clean and tidy condition for all dining room clients.* Cleans kitchen floors and other specified areas.* Assists the Front Desk staff in Fire Emergencies* May perform other related duties as assigned.**The above responsibilities must be discharged in accordance with The Salvation Army’s Mission Statement, in a professional manner, exemplifying Christian standards of conduct.****education and experience Qualifications:*** No specific academic education is required.
