Job summary

The Upper Canada District School Board is hiring a Registered Early Childhood Educator to work with the kindergarten program under the Principal's direction. You will plan, implement, and assess learning experiences in collaboration with the classroom teacher and families.

The role emphasizes strong communication, professional conduct, and a commitment to student well-being within a diverse school community. Engagement with parents and staff is expected.

Qualifications

• University degree in early child development or a 2-year post-secondary diploma in Early Childhood Education.
• Registration in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
• Minimum of 2-3 years recent experience in related child care.
• Assignments may include English and/or French classroom settings.

Responsibilities

• Works collaboratively with teaching staff to achieve goals.
• Works as part of a team to plan and deliver appropriate learning experiences for students in the kindergarten program.
• Provides supervision and takes responsibility for the care and safety of students in the absence of the teacher.
• Supervises students during nutrition breaks, rest periods or other breaks, performs yard and/or bus duty.
• Guides students throughout the program, applies appropriate behaviour management techniques and takes appropriate steps to create a safe, healthy and inviting environment that promotes belonging, well-being and inclusion.
• Observes and monitors the learning environment and protects student well-being and safety.
