Job summary

Boundary Co-op seeks a Grocery Manager for our Food Store in Killarney, Manitoba. You will lead the grocery department, manage staff, and ensure excellent guest service aligned with our brand values.

You will oversee ordering, inventory, merchandising, and store standards while driving sales and profitability. Flexible hours include days, evenings, and weekends. Boundary Co-op offers competitive wages and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with Members and Guests and deliver solutions.
• Provide exceptional Guest service while living the brand promise.
• Lead Team Members in people leadership, performance management, development and onboarding.
• Collaborate with Food Store Manager to support team development and growth.
• Ensure safe, effective grocery department operations: scheduling, ordering, inventory, merchandising, and brand standards.
• Follow up with Team Members to ensure understanding of brand image and best practices.
• Collaborate with Team Leaders on displays, promotions and store-wide projects.
• Oversee production, packaging, merchandising, and presentation of products.
• Ensure food preparation meets quality, safety, and operational standards.
• Manage accurate ordering, receiving, and inventory control processes.
• Maintain store cleanliness and organization aligned with brand expectations.
• Manage departmental financial performance: sales, margins, labour, expenses, contribution.
• Complete other duties and projects as required.

What you’ll do:

• Building strong relationships with Members and Guests while delivering solutions that meet their needs. Monitor Guest satisfaction levels, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to the development of products and services that drive profitability and enhance the Guest experience.
• Providing exceptional Guest service to our Members and Guests while living our brand promise through our “You’re at Home Here” motto.
• Leading Team Members in all areas of people leadership, including performance management, talent development, employee engagement, recruitment, orientation, and onboarding.
• Working collaboratively with the Food Store Manager to support Team Members in developing their teams, growing their skills, and building talent within their departments.
• Ensuring the safe and effective operation of the Grocery Department, including scheduling, ordering, inventory management, merchandising, and adherence to brand standards, marketing initiatives, safety requirements, and asset protection practices.
• Following up with Team Members to ensure consistent understanding and execution of Boundary Co-op's brand image standards and departmental best practices.
• Collaborating with fellow Team Leaders on displays, promotions, and store-wide projects.
• Overseeing the production, packaging, merchandising, and presentation of products.
• Ensuring food preparation activities meet quality, safety, and operational standards.
• Managing accurate ordering, receiving, and inventory control processes.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and overall store image in alignment with brand expectations.
• Managing departmental financial performance, including sales, margins, labour costs, expenses, and contribution.
• Completing other duties, projects, and assignments as required.

• You have previous Guest Service or leadership experience.
• Management experience is an asset.
