Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with Members and Guests while delivering solutions that meet their needs.
• Provide exceptional Guest service to our Members and Guests while living our brand promise.
• Lead Team Members in people leadership, including performance management, talent development, employee engagement, recruitment, orientation, and onboarding.
• Collaborate with Food Store Manager to support Team Members in developing their teams and building talent.
• Ensure safe and effective operation of the Grocery Department, including scheduling, ordering, inventory management, merchandising, and brand standards.
• Follow up with Team Members to ensure understanding and execution of brand image standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with Team Leaders on displays, promotions, and store-wide projects.
• Oversee production, packaging, merchandising, and presentation of products.
• Ensure food preparation activities meet quality, safety, and operational standards.
• Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory control processes.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and store image.
• Manage departmental financial performance, including sales, margins, labour costs, and expenses.
• Complete other duties, projects, and assignments as required.

What you'll do:

Reporting to the Food Store Manager, the Grocery Manager will be responsible for:

• Building strong relationships with Members and Guests while delivering solutions that meet their needs. Monitor Guest satisfaction levels, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to the development of products and services that drive profitability and enhance the Guest experience.
• Providing exceptional Guest service to our Members and Guests while living our brand promise through our "You're at Home Here" motto.
• Leading Team Members in all areas of people leadership, including performance management, talent development, employee engagement, recruitment, orientation, and onboarding.
• Working collaboratively with the Food Store Manager to support Team Members in developing their teams, growing their skills, and building talent within their departments.
• Ensuring the safe and effective operation of the Grocery Department, including scheduling, ordering, inventory management, merchandising, and adherence to brand standards, marketing initiatives, safety requirements, and asset protection practices.
• Following up with Team Members to ensure consistent understanding and execution of Boundary Co-op's brand image standards and departmental best practices.
• Collaborating with fellow Team Leaders on displays, promotions, and store-wide projects.
• Overseeing the production, packaging, merchandising, and presentation of products.
• Ensuring food preparation activities meet quality, safety, and operational standards.
• Managing accurate ordering, receiving, and inventory control processes.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and overall store image in alignment with brand expectations.
• Managing departmental financial performance, including sales, margins, labour costs, expenses, and contribution.
• Completing other duties, projects, and assignments as required.
