Job summary

Boundary Co-op in Deloraine, Manitoba, is hiring an Assistant Home Centre Manager to lead our home centre teams. You will oversee hardware, gas bar, and liquor departments, driving sales, inventory control, and exceptional customer service.

The role requires 2–3 years of retail leadership, Grade 12 education, strong communication, and the ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced setting. We offer competitive salaries, benefits, and an employer-contributed pension plan.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of retail experience, preferably in Home & Building Solutions, Gas Bar/C-Store, Liquor, or a related environment.
• Previous supervisory, lead hand, or team leadership experience is considered an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to support and motivate a team while maintaining a strong customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example by demonstrating behaviours that align with the Co-op's vision, mission, values, and commitment to safety;
• Support the daily operations of the Hardware, Gas Bar/C-Store, and Liquor departments, including inventory control, merchandising, pricing, and marketing programs;
• Assist with procurement and inventory management, including ordering, receiving, warehousing, stock rotation, and maintaining inventory accuracy;
• Support the Department Manager in achieving budgeted sales, margin, expense, and inventory targets;
• Help execute marketing initiatives, promotional events, and seasonal campaigns to drive sales and enhance customer engagement;
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards while maintaining housekeeping and asset protection practices;
• Provide leadership and support to Team Members through training, coaching, scheduling, and performance feedback;
• Deliver exceptional customer service, assist with resolving customer concerns, and support quotations for hardware projects and special orders;
• Monitor sales and operational reports, identify opportunities for improvement, and communicate recommendations to the Department Manager;
• Act on behalf of the Department Manager during absences and provide leadership support across all assigned departments;
• Other duties as assigned.

Who you are:

• Demonstrated ability to support and motivate a team while maintaining a strong customer service focus;
• Knowledge of products and operations within hardware, gas bar, and/or liquor departments is considered an asset;
