Key Account Manager

The Opportunity

The Key Account Manager – Walmart plays a mission-critical role in leading our partnership with one of Canada’s most influential retail customers. In this position, you will manage all aspects of the relationship with Walmart Canada—responsible for driving profitable growth, maximizing shelf presence, and executing category strategies across our brands.

This is a high-impact role that requires strong commercial acumen, data-driven decision-making, and exceptional cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities:

Account Leadership: Own and manage the full P&L for Walmart, ensuring delivery of sales, profitability, and share objectives.

Joint Business Planning: Lead annual and quarterly business planning with Walmart, including promotional planning, assortment strategies, and long-term growth initiatives.

Customer Relationship Management: Build trusted partnerships with Walmart buyers and key stakeholders, serving as the primary point of contact.

Data & Insights: Leverage POS data, syndicated data, and internal reporting tools to drive insights, identify opportunities, and recommend actions to improve performance.

Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with internal teams including Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, and Category Management to ensure flawless execution and alignment with Walmart’s needs. Champion internal communication on customer needs, opportunities, and challenges

Promotional Management: Lead the planning, execution, and post-analysis of promotions and merchandising events to maximize ROI.

Issue Resolution: Act as the escalation point to resolve operational or service issues quickly and efficiently.

Walmart Ecosystem:Become the expert on their ecosystem including omni channel shifts.

The Ideal Candidate will possess a positive attitude and have the following qualifications & competencies:

·Minimum 3 years of account management experience calling on National Accounts, Walmart experience is a strong asset

·Post-secondary marketing/sales or business degree

·Proven track record of managing national accounts.

·Effective negotiation and analytical skills

·Strong communication skills both verbal and written.

·Exceptional leadership & interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset

·Attention to detail, excellent project management & organizational skills.

·Project management skills and attention to detail; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

·Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point. Advanced excel experience, Project Management tools considered an asset.

·Proficiency in Priority Manager or One Note
