Magna Exteriors in Brampton, Canada, is seeking a Quality Engineer to support development and implementation of quality systems across manufacturing processes.

You will participate in PFMEA, control plans, support PPAP, and collaborate with Quality Engineering to improve manufacturability and GD&T accuracy. The role emphasizes problem solving, process capability studies, and adherence to IATF 16949 standards.

Competenze

• Minimum completion of college diploma in a quality-related field.
• ASQ Certification is an asset or in progress.
• Experience in a quality role in manufacturing, automotive a plus.

Mansioni

• Participate in development, implementation and updating of quality systems and procedures with guidance from Quality Engineering.
• Assist in development and maintenance of PFMEA, Control Plans and inspection instructions.
• Investigate customer concerns with PPSR process and support PPAP documentation.

Because we believe that your career path should be as unique as you are.Group Summary:The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.Recognized globally as an innovator in all aspects of vehicle exteriors, Magna provides everything needed, from materials development and design through manufacturing and assembly, to help automakers create sleek, state-of-the-art vehicles across the world.Job Responsibilities:SALARY:$60,000 - $65,000VACANCY STATUS:Immediate, Open PositionRESPONSIBILITIES:• Participate in the development, implementation and updating of quality systems and procedures with guidance from Quality Engineering• Assist in the development, continued completeness and accuracy of:- Process Flow Chart- PFMEA- Control Plan- Applicable quality inspection instructions- Applicable departmental standardized work- Applicable quality records• With support from Quality Engineering, champion the investigation of concerns or complaints reported by the customer in order to identify and correct quality systems failures using the PPSR Process to completion and sign off• Travel to Customer as required to investigate concerns or complaints• Continually observe and evaluate the manufacturing process with the goal of identifying opportunities to prevent failures or non-conformance• Interact with Program Manager as appropriate to ensure manufacturability and accurate GD&T/drawings• With support from Quality Engineering, coordinate, execute, document, and report process capability studies leading to the development of a stable capable process at time of PPAP• Ensure safe storage of approved master samples, and the creation and distribution of authorized surrogate master samples• Assist and train other Quality and Production personnel in the use of equipment and test methods as per the work instruction• With support from Quality Engineering, ensure that all specifications and requirements are documented in the appropriate inspection documents through the DCC process (CAQ database)• Coordinate and create the PPAP documentation package with guidance from a Quality Engineer• Participate in on-site launch support at the customer manufacturing location as required• Responsible for ECN approval participation• Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace• Comply with the requirements of CTPAT/PIP• Conduct business in an ethical manner in compliance with the Magna Code of Conduct• Report all accidents/incidents and unsafe conditions/behavior• Adhere to applicable quality systems and IATF 16949 standards• Adhere to and promote the Employee Charter and work within the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Plastcoat Employee Handbook• Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives• Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards• Ensure work area is kept neat and organized• Perform other duties as requiredQUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION:• Minimum completion of college diploma in a quality-related field• Completion or working towards ASQ CertificationEXPERIENCE:• Experience in a Quality role in a manufacturing environment• Experience in automotive industry an assetSKILLS:• Knowledge of SPC, IATF-16949, prints, GD&T and other automotive quality systems requirements• Strong verbal and written communication skills• Computer literate in MS Word and spreadsheet programs• Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems• Strong interpersonal skills• Well-developed organizational and time management skillsAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
