Qualifications

• Appropriate state adjuster license is required.

Responsibilities

• Examine insurance policies and records to determine coverage.
• Interview claimants and witnesses regarding claims.
• Inspect property damage and consult records to determine liability.
• Estimate cost of repair, replacement, or compensation.
• Prepare findings and negotiate settlements with claimants.
• Recommend litigation when settlement cannot be negotiated.
• Attend litigation hearings and adjust case reserves as needed.
• Assist in loss experience reporting to help determine profitability.
