Job summary

Vertex Resource Group Ltd. seeks a detail-oriented Junior Project Estimator to join the Sherwood Park team.

You will support cost estimates, bid submissions, and resource coordination, collaborating with Operations, Project Management, and Business Development to ensure accurate and timely proposals. The role emphasizes data integrity, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work with large datasets—experience in industrial services or oil & gas is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Economics, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field.
• Recent graduates and early-career professionals encouraged to apply.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred in oil & gas, industrial services, construction, environmental, or related industries.
• Experience with industrial cleaning, tank cleaning, facility maintenance, turnarounds, or related field operations is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Review project specs, RFPs, RFQs, and docs to determine labour, equipment, materials, subcontractor, and operational requirements.
• Assist in developing accurate project cost estimates and bid proposals.
• Contact suppliers/subcontractors to obtain pricing, availability, and discounts.
• Build, maintain, and validate detailed Excel spreadsheets and estimating tools.
• Analyze project data to ensure accuracy of calculations and pricing.
