David Aplin Recruiting represents a well-established General Contractor seeking an Estimator to join their Vancouver-based team. The role focuses on accurate bid pricing, plan analysis, and cost estimation for North American projects in the ICI and residential sectors.

You will work with project managers and engineers, maintaining cost databases, performing take-offs, and delivering proposals on time and within budget. This is a client-side search for a long-term contributor.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience of Estimating in the Construction industry, particularly in ICI & Residential projects.
• Relevant 3rd level qualification.
• Proficient in Estimating software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of bid proposals and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Maintain and update a database of costs and pricing for future bidding processes.
• Review project plans and specifications to understand requirements and scope.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and information.
• Perform quantity take-offs and prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Analyze project costs and budget forecasts, providing value engineering options where applicable.
• Stay current with industry trends, materials, and techniques to enhance estimating processes.
• Attend project meetings and provide updates on estimating progress and timelines.

About The Opportunity

This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and competitive bids for various construction projects. Your role will invovlve analyzing project plans, perform quantity take-offs, and prepare detailed cost estimates, collaborating with project managers and engineers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
