Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking a Junior Project Engineer to support the delivery of multidisciplinary electric utility projects from our Vancouver, BC office, with hybrid work optional including Edmonton or Calgary. You'll work under a Senior Project Engineer to review and integrate deliverables, manage interfaces, and help deliver safe, high-quality projects.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of engineering experience in the electric utility industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the applicable provincial association, or eligible to register.
• Experience on electric utility projects involving distribution, transmission, substations, protection and control, telecom, civil or structural engineering.
• Ability to understand and integrate multidisciplinary engineering information across disciplines.
• Knowledge of Canadian codes, standards and utility engineering practices.
• Valid Canadian Driver’s License and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Support multidisciplinary technical coordination and integration of engineering deliverables across utility disciplines.
• Review drawings, calculations, specs, reports to identify interfaces and gaps; coordinate resolution with technical leads.
• Support Senior Project Engineer in defining scope, design criteria, deliverables, responsibilities, and interfaces.
• Coordinate internal and client design reviews and ensure deliverables meet client requirements and industry standards.
• Maintain engineering schedules, work plans, deliverable registers, action logs and decision tracking.
• Assist project controls activities including budgets, forecasting, progress tracking and change management.
• Identify issues impacting scope, schedule, budget, quality or safety; assist in timely resolution.
• Participate in client and stakeholder meetings; prepare technical information and lead coordination meetings.
• Assist in proposal development with scope, estimates, schedules and execution planning.
• Support construction with site visits, RFIs, technical queries and coordination with teams.
