Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking an Electrical Substation Engineer for a hybrid role based in Vancouver, BC. You will contribute to HV/MV substation design for utilities and industrial clients, lead drawings development, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative energy solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in electrical layout, preferably with large Canadian utilities.
• Professional registered member of Engineer and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC) or eligible to register.
• Advanced experience with electrical design for electric utility substations.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of preliminary and detailed design drawings for HV/MV substations for utilities and industrial installations.
• Perform/review electrical calculations and equipment sizing for transformers, circuit breakers, disconnects, busbars, etc.
• Perform/review sizing calculations for power cables and cable tray/trenches routing design.
• Prepare technical reports and equipment specifications for HV/MV equipment.
• Review manufacturer drawings and ensure compliance with codes and client standards.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
