Job summary

Arrow Workforce Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Payroll Coordinator to join our Calgary team. You will assist in accurate and timely payroll processing for employees, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with Canadian and Alberta payroll requirements.

The role involves reviewing timesheets, processing deductions and benefits, and supporting year-end activities while collaborating with Recruitment and Accounting to resolve payroll issues.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of Canadian payroll practices and Alberta employment requirements.
• Strong Excel and computer skills; experience with payroll or HRIS/ADP software is an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing weekly or biweekly payroll.
• Review timesheets, attendance records, overtime, vacation, bonuses, and other payroll adjustments.
• Enter and maintain accurate employee payroll information.
• Process payroll deductions, benefits, and other adjustments.
• Assist with payroll reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, and payroll-related matters.
• Maintain confidential payroll and employee records.
• Assist with year-end payroll activities, including T4 preparation and reporting.
• Support compliance with federal and Alberta payroll legislation and company policies.
• Work closely with Recruitment and Accounting to resolve payroll issues and maintain accurate records.
