Job summary

General Dynamics Mission SystemsCanada is seeking an Operator Interface and GUI Designer in Calgary, AB, to work within the Land & Joint Solutions area. The role focuses on GUI design for military embedded hardware or software, leveraging SAFe and cross-functional teams.

The successful candidate will translate GUI concepts into development assets, create usability-focused designs, and collaborate with hardware and software teams to deliver complex interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, HCI, SE, industrial design, or related field.
• Experience in GUI design, UX or HCI for products and apps.
• Experience designing front-end interfaces iteratively with high fidelity.
• Experience with GUI prototyping tools (Axure, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
• Ability to translate GUI design into development assets.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with AI/ML models preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Participate in interdisciplinary project team.
• Work with AI/ML models preferred.
• Develop GUI firmware on embedded devices or software using SAFe.
• Provide functional and innovative GUI designs for complex operations.
• Identify and create UI requirements and analysis.
• Prepare and review design documents.
• Document analysis, design and test activities per standards.
