Job Description

As a result of strategic growth, we have a great opportunity to join a collaborative group working alongside our Geomatics team of Land Surveyors, technologists, and field staff. This field-oriented role will be involved in a variety of infrastructure and geomatics projects primarily in and around Calgary. Role Responsibilities :

Generally, either assisting the Survey Party Chief or working independently on project sites, you will be providing survey layouts, as-built measurements, survey monument installations and maintaining the equipment and workspace. This work is primarily located in and around the Calgary region.

Key responsibilities / tasks could include :

• Assistingand supporting surveyors in field surveys,
• Assisting surveyors in drafting survey notes and detailed drawings,
• Conducting on-field survey and record measurements,
• Coordinatingwith other surveyors on field survey activities,
• Ensuringcompliance of established procedures and guidelines in survey activities including quality assurance / controls and safety protocols,
• Demonstrating excellent interpersonal communicationwith office staff, contractors and other stakeholders on a daily basis.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience :

• Diploma or degree from a technical institution in Geomatics or Civil Engineering / Construction related field
• 1-3 yearsexperiencerelated to construction and / or land surveying field projects
• Experience using software and surveying related equipment such asTrimble RTK, Total stations, GPS are definite assets
• Experience using Civil3D and the operation of drones are beneficial
• As short term travel will be required periodically, must have a Valid Class 5 Driver’s license for day trips; own reliable vehicle is also required (vehicle allowance will be provided)
• Must be able to work in a variety of outdoor situations and weather conditions and carry / lift survey equipment
