Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG) is seeking a Junior Data Analyst to support performance analysis and reporting across the organization. You will work with cross-functional stakeholders to manage data, build dashboards, and deliver insights that inform ROI and brand impact.

The role is part-time and contract-based for 12 weeks, up to 16 hours per week, with a hybrid work arrangement. The position emphasizes data-driven decision-making and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

  • Completion of post-secondary education in data analysis, computer sciences, marketing, or related field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience, preferably within a sports property.
  • Intermediate to expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data manipulation.
  • Data driven with an interest in translating complex data into clear, actionable insights that resonate across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work on deadlines, handling multiple tasks at once with great attention to detail.
  • Bilingual EN/FR is an asset; Snowflake and Omni Analytics knowledge are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business performance reports, identifying key trends and opportunities to improve results.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance reports and dashboards including NPS, ticketing, email marketing, and social media performance.
  • Extract, transform, validate, and prepare data from multiple sources for accurate reporting.
  • Use analytics tools to analyze data and develop reporting solutions.
  • Respond to ad hoc analytical requests from cross-functional stakeholders with timely insights.
  • Research and evaluate emerging analytics platforms and data sources to improve reporting capabilities and data quality.
  • Establish and maintain data quality and reporting standards across outputs.
  • Continuously develop analytical capabilities and stay current with industry trends.

Job description

Reporting to the Senior Data Analyst, the Junior Data Analyst supports the analysis and optimization of business performance across the organization. This role collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to manage databases and reporting, analyze marketing and sales data, and provide insights on ROI, brand impact, and key performance metrics. The position also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance marketing effectiveness, optimize performance, and enable data-driven decision-making.

This part-time, contract role has an hourly rate of $18.00/hr. This is a temporary position and offers flexibility to work in a hybrid work arrangement. This positions term length is 12 weeks (up to 16 hours per week).

What you’ll do
  • Monitor and analyze weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business performance reports, identifying key trends, performance drivers, and opportunities to improve results.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance recurring reports and dashboards, including Net Promoter Score (NPS), ticketing performance for owned and tenant teams, email marketing, and social media performance.
  • Extract, transform, validate, and prepare data from multiple sources to ensure accurate and reliable reporting and analysis.
  • Use Microsoft Excel, Snowflake, Ticketmaster Archtics, Host, and other analytics tools to analyze data and develop reporting solutions.
  • Respond to ad hoc analytical and data requests from cross-functional stakeholders, delivering accurate and timely insights that support business priorities.
  • Research and evaluate emerging analytics platforms, technologies, and data sources to identify opportunities to improve reporting capabilities, data quality, and analytical efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain data quality and reporting standards to ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability across analytical outputs.
  • Continuously develop analytical capabilities and stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business and marketing analytics.
What’s needed
