Job summary

TD Place in Ottawa is seeking an Inclusion Coach to provide specialised behavioural support within the Autism Moves program. Reporting to the Inclusion Coordinator, you will create a safe, inclusive environment and guide staff in consistently applying behaviour supports across sessions.

This part-time, on-site role involves developing weekly lessons and adapting activities for varying abilities, monitoring participant progress, and engaging families as a key onsite contact.

Qualifications

• Certification or experience in behaviour analysis, special education, sport and recreation, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorder and strategies for behaviour management.
• Experience working with children and youth in sports, recreation, or therapeutic settings.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong ability to problem solve and think on your feet.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Availability to work weekends and weeknights.
• Access to a vehicle to attend various program sites.
• Bilingual English & French is considered an asset.
• Able to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Check.

Job description

Reporting to the Inclusion Coordinator, the Inclusion Coach is responsible for providing specialized behavioural support within the Autism Moves program, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants. This role develops and implements strategies to support diverse needs, adapts programming in collaboration with the Program Leader, and provides guidance to staff to ensure consistent application of behaviour supports. The position also monitors participant progress, engages with families as a key point of contact, and supports overall program delivery to enhance the experience for youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This part-time, contract role has an hourly rate of $30/hr. This is a replacement position and works on site.

What you’ll do:

• Serve as the program’s onsite behaviour specialist, providing strategies and interventions to address challenging behaviors at each session.
• Develop weekly lessons and curriculums, with option for varying ability levels and behaviour needs.
• Support and mentor Program Leader and Program Support staff to ensure consistent application of behavior strategies.
• Collaborate with the Program Leader to adapt sport activities to meet the developmental and sensory needs of participants.
• Monitor participant progress and provide recommendations to enhance their experience.
• Serve as the main point of contact onsite for families, providing updates and addressing concerns.
