Job description

Our client in York Region, ON is actively looking for a Junior Accountant to join their team.

Position Description:

• Preparation of full note disclosure financial statements and supporting working papers on an annual basis
• Preparation of accruals/prepaids and amortization journal entries on a quarterly basis
• Analyze financial data to identify and describe variances
• Ensure compliance with ASPE and internal controls
• Field requests for documentation and explanations by external auditors
• Estimate of stub period income or loss to be picked up by parent entity
• Other duties based on the business needs of the Finance group
• Experience in general accounting, journal entries, and financial reporting

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficient in Excel with advanced skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, financial modeling)
• System-savvy with a solid understanding of ERP systems.
• Pursuing CPA
• 1-2 years of experience
• Able to multitask
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets with accuracy
