Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Accountant located in Mississauga, ON. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day financial tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting.

• Process daily invoicing accurately and in a timely manner
• Provide customers with proof of delivery documentation as needed
• Prepare and submit reports upon request
• Upload invoices to customer portals and ensure records are up to date
• Receive and upload stock & in-transit files to the system
• Upload & update parts pricing in the system when requested

3. Drivers Payroll

• Process weekly or bi-weekly payroll for company drivers, ensuring accuracy in hours, mileage, bonuses, and deductions
• Collecting the city timesheets from the drivers on daily basis.
• Review and verify driver logs, trip sheets, and timecards to ensure proper compensation
• Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing driver-related data and documentation
• Collaborate with HR and dispatch teams to address driver inquiries and support payroll-related matters
• Update drivers’ trip in the TMS software.

4. Others

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing, including working papers
• Digitize and organize financial documents for better record-keeping
• Support audits by providing requested documentation and reports
• Perform ad hoc accounting duties as needed
• Adapt to evolving responsibilities based on business needs
• Collect and review credit card receipts submitted by drivers and other staff for accuracy and completeness
• Ensure all credit card expenses are coded correctly for accounting and reporting purposes

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Relevant educational background in Accounting or Finance
