Job summary

New Heights School & Learning Services is seeking a full-time Junior High educator to join our team for Fall 2026, teaching a multi-grade classroom in a supportive, neurodivergent-focused school.

You will collaborate with an integrated multidisciplinary team, with small class sizes, mentorship for new graduates, and a culture that values inclusion, relationship-building, and student-centered outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Active Alberta Teaching Certificate (or eligible for certification in Alberta).
  • Experience working with youth with high functioning autism spectrum disorder or similar social and learning challenges; understanding of differentiated instruction and inclusive educational practices.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills in multiple stakeholder environments.
  • Self-directed, flexible, and highly motivated to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • New Graduates are encouraged to apply and will receive mentorship and support as they begin their teaching careers.

  • Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned with the Alberta Education curriculum.
  • Differentiate instruction to support students with a variety of learning profiles, strengths, and needs.

For more than 25 years, New Heights School & Learning Services has been transforming the educational experience for neurodivergent students by creating an environment where every learner is understood, supported, and empowered to succeed. Serving approximately 125 students from kindergarten to Grade 12, New Heights specializes in educating students with autism spectrum disorder and similar learning differences through a strengths-based, individualized approach aligned with the Alberta Program of Studies.
