Job summary

New Heights School & Learning Services in Calgary invites a Fall 2026 Off-Campus Coordinator to oversee High School Work Experience and Work Practicum, combined with Physical Education and Wellness. This full-time role offers a chance to build meaningful relationships with students, employers and the broader school team.

You will mentor youth, coordinate placements, and teach PE and Career Education to junior and senior students, contributing to a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Alberta Teaching Certificate (required).
• Experience with youth with autism spectrum disorder or similar challenges.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-directed, flexible, highly motivated and effective in a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of the Alberta Off-Campus Education curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Teach and assess PE and Wellness for Jr and Sr high students.
• Teach and assess Career Education and Financial Literacy for grades 7-9.
• Source and coordinate work/volunteer placements for students' programs.
• Build and sustain relationships with employers and volunteer organizations.
• Monitor, assess and document students’ progress.
• Organize workplace visits to ensure compliance with Alberta Education regulations and support placements.

The Position:

Qualifications:

• The ability to be self-directed, flexible, highly motivated and to work effectively as part of multidisciplinary team
• Knowledge of the Alberta curriculum for Off-Campus Education

• Support the students by teaching, using and modeling strategies
