Job summary

Canadian Kraft Paper Industries Ltd in The Pas, MB is seeking a Journeyman Pipefitter to fabricate and assemble piping and valves, hydrotest and install pipe spools, and replace worn components. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will read blueprints and diagrams, work independently, and uphold safety standards in a unionized, full-time role with an hourly wage of $46.48.

The ideal candidate will have a Red Seal Certification or be a 4th year apprentice, with 3 years’ experience

Qualifications

• Journeyman Pipefitter Red Seal Certification/4th year Apprentice.
• Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to assemble equipment and follow work procedures & processes.
• Prefer 3 years’ experience.
• Ability to work independently and take initiatives.
• Strong work ethic and safety record.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate/Assemble piping and valves.
• Hydrotest, assemble and install pipe spools in the facility.
• Measure, cut, and thread pipe.
• Install supports, valves, piping and control systems.
• Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system.
• Other duties as requested

Overview

• Hydrotest, assemble and install pipe spools in the facility
• Measure, cut, and thread pipe
• Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
• Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
• Other duties as requested

Qualifications

• Journeyman Pipefitter Red Seal Certification/4th year Apprentice
• Proven mechanical and trouble shooting skills
• Prefer 3 years’ experience
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to assemble equipment and follow work procedures & processes
• Ability to work independently and take initiatives
• Strong work ethic and safety record
• Strong interpersonal skills; both verbal and written communication required
